Leaders - Church look after your leaders. #2
Updated: Aug 6
I knew this sales manager who started the day off walking into the showroom shouting, “It’s a good morning everyone!” With a huge smile he did this every morning without fail. His positive attitude set the day up and put a smile on everyone’s face who heard him, including the grumpy old Managing Director Merrifield. He made a difference every day as he knew his staff. He knew they all had personal battles outside of work, so each day started upbeat. And we loved him for it.
The Bible says this, “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” (Heb 13.7) It’s easy to take our church leaders for granted, especially if the general belief is, they’re the one who gets paid for this or they’re only volunteers anyway! What effect does this attitude have on the church family? Remember, our words can make all the difference between a good or a bad day. Treat our leaders well, forgive them when they get it wrong, and help carry the load when you see they are struggling. After all, just like you, they have personal battles too. Author and church leader Bill Johnson may help us with these words, “To understand, we must obey revelations and put them into practice.” To get that positive spirit and attitude into your church, you take it there every time you walk in¸ and remember teach to bring hope, preach to give confidence, and speak to share love. Looking to Jesus as Life Lasts from there.
